Take your practice to a higher level of integrating new laser technology. This lecture and hands-on workshop is for the dentist/dental hygienist and covers various laser applications. This program covers general applications including cavity preparations, various soft tissue procedures, endodontic preparation, and bony procedures such as crown lengthening and tori reduction. In addition, laser dental hygiene applications will be discussed as well. The hands-on segment features lasers using pig jaws and teeth for both soft tissue and hard tissue applications including cavity preparation, soft tissue ablation, bone ablation, and all hygiene procedures.


Understand basic laser safety and physics.

Learn clinical applications of dental hard tissue and soft tissue lasers.

Use the laser (hands-on) in a simulated dental hard and soft tissue environment.

Learning Outcomes:

Understand dental laser hard/soft tissue applications and clinical procedures for the dental team.

Understand laser history, safety, physics, clinical applications and procedures in the dental office.

Understand the different types of dental lasers available on the market today and be able to select the laser that best suits each practice’s need.


Dr.  Anthony Cardoza is a general dentist in San Diego California.  Dr. Cardoza first incorporated dental lasers into his practice in 2001 for both hard tissue and soft tissue applications.  Dr. Cardoza has certification in the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the Academy of Clinical Technology, and the World Clinic Laser Institute.  Dr. Cardoza lectures extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada on the topics of lasers and forensic dentistry.

Kimberly Cardoza is a Registered Dental Hygienist practicing in San Diego, California and has been using dental lasers within her practice of dental hygiene for 17 years. She has certification in the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD), Academy of Clinical Technology, and the World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI). She is a graduate of the Dental Hygiene program at Cerritos College (1996).
