Speaker Bio: Sherwin Arman, D.M.D., M.P.H. is the director of the orofacial pain program at the UCLA School Of Dentistry. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and is involved with the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the American Board of Orofacial Pain. His interest is to promote Orofacial Pain education to healthcare providers and students as well as the integration of Orofacial Pain education into dental education curricula.

Course Objectives: To educate dentists with an interest in dental sleep medicine on basic concepts of the role of the dentist in sleep medicine as well as principles of screening, diagnosis and management of obstructive sleep apnea.

Brief Course Description: This lecture will review sleep disordered breathing, the anatomy and health effects of sleep disordered breathing as well as an overview of treatments including various types of mandibular advancement devices.
