To WLADS Members and Friends,

As the situation with coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, your WLADS Executive Committee is ready to support our membership by relaying pertinent information and providing a method for doctors and staff to communicate ideas and support each other through this crisis.

We’ve always been deliberate and transparent when making significant decisions about our organization. We understand that you are making difficult decisions regarding your business, patients, and family, and we are here to help where we can. Per Governor Newsom’s mandate and the CDA’s recommendations, we have canceled several of our continuing education classes and activities. In addition to e-mail blasts, the WLADS Web site is a resource for you.

The CDA’s Web site is an excellent resource for everyone in our industry: https://www.cda.org/Home/News-and-Events/COVID-19-coronavirus-Updates. There you can get additional information about the CDA’s strong recommendation that dentists practicing in California voluntarily suspend nonessential or nonurgent dental care for the next 14 days. As always, it is expected that dentists will continue to be available as needed for emergency care and services. They have also created FAQs on the following topics:

  • Dental Office Closures
  • Infection Control
  • Patient Screening
  • Patient Treatment
  • Employees and Sick Leave

CDA Practice Support is also available at 800.232.7645 but is experiencing a significant increase in calls, so wait times may be longer than usual.

Please also reach out to the WLADS office via e-mail or phone if you have questions or concerns during this time.

We encourage you to continue to check reliable sources for the latest information:

Our goal is to continue to share information with our members as we move forward together into a future that’s hard to predict.

Thank you and stay safe,
David Downs, DDS
WLADS Board President
