Course Synopsis: The course is designed to be an interactive experience addressing some of the parameters the new professionals need to consider when building a long and rewarding career. Attendees will receive a certificate for 2 CEU upon completion of this course.
Class learning objectives:
Basic rules and guideline in practicing dentistry
Business vs. Health care model
Promoting office and dental treatments
Understand the ethical decision-making process
Case studies and discussion
Speaker Bio: Dr. Charles Wang is an alumnus of the USC dental school and is a general dentist practicing full time in West Los Angeles. He is not a trained legalist nor an ethicist. Dr. Wang’s knowledge of dentistry and the law comes from his experiences as a member of the Peer Review committee in his local component dental society for 15 years; and as a member of the CDA Judicial council for the last eight years; out of the eight years, four years was as a member of Investigative Panel. He was a faculty in the dental GPR program in Cedars Sinai Medical Center for about 13 years; and this is his third year as an adjunct faculty at USC teaching Dentistry and the Law. Volunteerism is a big part of Dr. Wang’s life. He enjoys volunteering his time for his profession and trying to make this profession a slightly better place for the future generations.
